Chris Batt, (UK)
Chris Batt is Chief Executive of The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) from December 2003. Prior to this was Acting Chief Executive and Director of the Libraries and Information Society Team. He is responsible for leading strategic advice on the delivery of services of museums, archives and libraries. Previously he led the Government´s People´s Network programme. He also leads the development of strategic planning for public libraries, working closely with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and other government departments.

Richard A. Detweiler, (United States)
Mr. Detweiler has been an Interim President of the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) from August 2003 till June 2004. He served as president and professor of psychology at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, from 1992 through June 2003. Earlier this year he was named a distinguished fellow by CLIR to develop new approaches to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of liberal education. Mr.Detweiler holds master´s and doctoral degrees in social psychology from Princeton University. He has been very active in promoting a global academic community, working on numerous education, training, and research projects in the United States and abroad.

Joan K. Lippincott, (United States)
Dr. Lippincott is the Associate Executive Director of the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI). She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD), a member of the board of the National Initiative for a Networked Cultural Heritage, the founding chair and member of the Association of College and Research Libraries New Directions in Teaching and Learning Discussion Group, and a member of the American Library Association.

Peter Schirmbacher, (Germany)
Dr. Schirmbacher is director of the Computer and Media Services of Humboldt University in Berlin. He is a member of the Association for Supporting a Research Network (DFN Verein), a member of the board of the Association of Centres of Information and Communication in Research and Education (ZKI), and also a board member of the German Initiative for Networked Information (DINI).

Manfred Thaller, (Germany)
Manfred Thaller is Professor in "Historisch - Kulturwissenschaftliche Informationsverarbeitung" (Computer Science for the Humanities) at the University of Cologne, Germany. Since 1970 studying history at the University in Graz, there 1975 PhD in Modern History. Postdoc fellowship in (empirical) sociology at the Insitute for Advanced Studies in Vienna. Since 1978 research fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut for History in Gőttingen: responsible for the design and implementation of a general data base oriented programming system for history and research on a general methodology of historical computer science. In 1995-2000 also part-time professor, founding director, then permanent director of the "Humanities Information Technology Research Programme" at the University of Bergen, Norway. His recent reference projects: Digital Manuscript Library Cologne, German Art Historical Decentralized Image Archive (Prometheus), Frankfurt digital library, Manuscript server project Duderstadt.
